Pregnant mums who felt emotionally connected to their unborn babies are more likely to have healthy, positive relationships with their children later.

The study by Medina NY et al., was published in Infant Ment Health J. 2025.

The Study:

The study followed 160 young, ethnically/racially diverse, low-income American women from pregnancy all the way through to 30 months postpartum.

During pregnancy, questionnaires were sent out to assess prenatal attachment.
