About The New Study

In the study, brain imaging data included 126 fetal scans (from 25 weeks gestation) and 58 babies (55 weeks post-conception gestational age)

The Results:

“Our results demonstrate a rapid surge in functional connectivity at birth on a global scale, probably reflecting neural processes that support the brain’s transition to the external world.”
