Why are we doing this?
We’re Toni and Alex, the filmmakers behind the film MICROBIRTH. We launched MICROBIRTH 8 years ago with over 1,000 premiere screenings across the world, all on one day. The film created a wave of awareness about the infant microbiome within the birth community, but not the change to global maternity systems we were hoping for.
So, over the past 5 years, we’ve been working on a new film. And this time we’re aiming the new film directly AT PARENTS.
We’ll be launching the new film and free companion app with a HUGE global campaign later this year (more on that later on…)
The goal is to create a wave of knowledge — so that EXPECTANT PARENTS know about the origins of the microbiome, and why what happens during pregnancy, birth and early infancy really matters for a child’s long-term health.
Expectant parents who find out about the microbiome will have questions, and doulas, midwives and childbirth educators need to be able to provide answers.
That’s why we are holding this conference!
This is a chance for you to learn the science, and to learn WHY it matters, and how YOU can talk to parents about it, WITHOUT triggering parent guilt.
The conference gives you a chance to learn from, and connect directly with, scientists who are actually doing the research, plus key thought-leaders working in pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.
This is an exciting, high-octane REALLY POSITIVE conference where together, we can learn, connect and inspire one another to help change the health of the next generation.
